Healthcare costs continue to grow faster than wages or inflation, reaching $3.5 trillion in 2017 alone. Hospital care accounts for the largest category of health spending – so what are patients getting in return?

The Council for Affordable Health Coverage joined a panel of expert guests to look at trends in hospital quality including variations from state to state and across different types of hospital systems. Panelists discussed how improved quality measures can spur better care for patients and lower spending for the healthcare system.
