28, 2005: CAHC congratulates Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA)
and Representatives Eric Cantor (R-VA), J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ),
Sam Johnson (R-TX), and Paul Ryan (R-WI), who introduced H.R.
1872, a bill that offers tax credits and other incentives
to help individuals and families with low-to-modest incomes
afford health insurance.

October
5. 2004: CAHC commends Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) for
introducing S. 2893, the “Save Act of 2004.” The
bill offers advanceable, refundable tax credits to help individuals
and families with low-to-modest incomes afford health insurance.
September
20, 2004: CAHC urges Senate Health Education Labor and
Pensions Committee to pass S.2283, a bipartisan bill cosponsored
by 5 Republicans and 6 Democrats, which would reauthorize
a federal program that supports state high-risk pools and
expands the operating money available to state pools.
August
26, 2004: CAHC reacts to the newest figures from the US
Census Bureau, which indicated a rise in the number of uninsured,
and reinforces the need for policy makers to take action.

4, 2004: CAHC supports the legislation introduced by Representatives
Phil Crane (R-IL), Sam Johnson (R-TX), Eric Cantor (R-VA),
and Jim Ramstad (R-MN), H.R. 3901, which encourages the purchase
of Health Savings Accounts and other high deductible plans
by making the premium payments tax deductible. 2003

30, 2003: CAHC responds to the Census Bureau’s Health
Insurance report that was released, which announced the largest
single increase in the number of uninsured in any single year
for the last decade.
July
17, 2003: CAHC explains the merits of the Health Insurance
Certificate Act of 2003, H.R. 2698, a bill that creates “vouchers”
for purchasing health insurance directed at low and modest
income Americans.
June
5, 2003: CAHC applauds the introduction of H.R. 2351,
a bill introduced by House Ways and Means Committee Chairman,
Bill Thomas (R-CA). The bill creates "Health Savings
Accounts" which encourages people to plan and save for
their health care needs.
April
12, 2003 - Congress earmarks $50 billion for the uninsured
in the budget resolution for fiscal year 2004. In order to
access that $50 billion, both the Finance and Ways and Means
Committees would have to use it to “increase access
to health insurance for the uninsured.”
March
12, 2003: CAHC commends Representatives Kay Granger (R-TX),
Albert Wynn (D-MD), and House Ways and Means Subcommittee
on Health Chairwoman, Nancy Johnson (R-CT), for their initiative
to help uninsured Americans, which includes their new tax
credit legislation, “Securing Access, Value, and Equality
(SAVE) to Health Care Act,”

6, 2003: CAHC commends and supports Congresswoman Kay
Granger (R-TX) and Rep. Wynn on announcing their tax-credit
legislation, “Securing Access Value and Equality (SAVE)
to Health Care Act,” H.R. 1236.
January
29, 2003: CAHC supports the President Bush’s call
for “high quality affordable health care for all Americans,”
as mentioned in his State of the Union address.
