The Coalition for Affordable Health Coverage (CAHC) is a broad-based coalition that works to reduce the number of uninsured Americans by lobbying Congress to pass laws that increase access to private-sector health insurance.

Our members include physician and other medical specialty organizations, business groups, insurance carriers, insurance brokers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, consumer groups and others who believe that affordability of coverage is the most basic component of access to health care.

The specific purposes for which the CAHC is organized are to promote the enactment of:

	a tax credit directed to individuals and families for the purchase of private health insurance
	other market-oriented approaches to extending private health insurance coverage to the uninsured.

These objectives will be
met by holding regular briefings on Capitol Hill
to communicate proposals for the uninsured to policymakers.
